Dear McDonald International Students and Families,

We kicked this week off with a fantastic performance entitled, Alexandra and the Dragon, performed by Taproot Theater Company. Thank you to the PTA for helping us bring this play to McDonald International. Alexandra and the Dragon is the story of a 5th grader who learns the importance of being a positive bystander and sticking up for a new student at her school who is being bullied. During the performance, Alexandra (and the McDonald students) learned the 3 R’s: Recognizing, Reporting and Refusing Bullying. This weekend I encourage you to ask your child(ren) about the play and the 3 R’s.

For the month of March, the core value we are focusing on is Courage. At McDonald International we define courage as, “having the strength to do the right thing.” On the morning announcements and in classrooms students will be talking about courage.

The 2nd trimester Elementary Progress Report (EPR) will be coming home later this month. As a staff we have decided to keep comments brief but any teacher will gladly respond to questions or concerns regarding your child’s performance. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

I hope you have a great weekend and as always, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me or schedule a time to meet in person.

Sincerely,

Michelle Goldberg
