Where will your reading take you?

As you jump into summer, don’t forget to take your book(s) along. This summer we’ll be creating Summer Reading Shelfies, where we can show off and share what we’ve been reading. After, you finish a book add it to your Shelfie. Feeling creative? Decorate your book spine to show off your shelfie’s personality. Scotties will be receiving one in class or from Supply Pickup. If you need another, visit the Summer Book Shelfie to print your own or select the image below.

Do you need a little incentive?

There are so many fun Summer reading programs. Here are just a few. Use these to inspire you to read and then fill in your completed book on your Summer Book Shelfie.

Do you want to know what Mrs. Finnegan recommends?

The Seattle School Elementary librarians have created some lists on the Seattle Public Library. These are books we enjoy, some are new, some are on next year’s Washington Reading Nominees. We made recommendations by grade, however some will make great read alouds and picture books are for everyone.

For some other reading ideas, check out Mrs. Finnegan's Google Slides Reading Rooms

    Keep in Touch

Bookmark this page for ideas throughout the summer and follow @readingscotties on Instagram. I’ll be sharing where I’m reading, book recommendations and how my Summer Book Shelfie is growing. I’ll be attempting the Seattle Arts and Lecture BINGO, so watch for reading ideas for those categories.

Did you just finish an amazing book? Take a picture of yourself reading for a Book Selfie and share it with @readingscotties!
