Physical Education

Physical Education is an exciting place to be! Ms. Fleck’s teaching mission is to help students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence for a lifetime of physical activity and health. In her classroom she plays music and has fun but there is always lots of learning going on every day in all three domains: cognitive (thinking), affective (social/emotional), and psychomotor (physical/kinesthetic).

Washington State P.E. standards

For each grade level, students are taught lessons aligned to these five Washington State standards:

  • Standard 1: Students will demonstrate competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
  • Standard 2: Students will apply knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics related to movement and performance.
  • Standard 3: Students will demonstrate the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
  • Standard 4: Students will exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respect self and others.

Students will recognize the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction.
