Mac’s Notes – April 11
April 11, 2025, Mac’s Facts & Mac’s Notes —
Dear Scottie Families,
We completed a super fun week filled with joy! Our fifth grade students took on staff members in our annual basketball tournament. This tradition brings some fun competition and memorable moments. We are so grateful for Ms. Fleck and the fifth grade team for making it happen. In honor of Assistant Principal’s Week, we celebrated our very own Ms. Roosma. It was joyous to hear our students raise their voices in song!
In honor of Earth Month, we’ll be sharing a new tip each week in April to help you reduce waste at home. Most of us are familiar with the three R’s—Reduce, Reuse, Recycle—but did you know there are two more? Refuse and Reuse are just as important!
Reuse shopping bags and gift bags
Refuse- Say no to unnecessary waste! Politely decline:
Single-use straws at restaurants
Single-use coffee cups (bring your own!)
Plastic produce bags at the grocery store
Condiments and utensils in takeout orders
Reuse- Get creative with items you already have:
Save and repurpose packing materials
Use glass jars for food storage
Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast April 25th!
To celebrate and say thank you for your fantastic support in the classroom and around the school this year, we would like to invite you to a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast. Please join us Friday, April 25th starting at 8 am in the McDonald library. We’ll have food and drinks to share.
